  • How can I add additional days to my existing rental?
    You can call our customer service team at 1-800-GO-UHaul (1-800-468-4285), or chat with them online!If equipment is available for the time you need it we are always happy to help make those changes for you.
  • How much do extra days or miles cost, and how many are included?
    The amount provided and the cost for extra varies depending on a few factors; however, this information should be listed on your reservation or your rental contract. If you’re still having trouble, feel free to get in touch with our customer service team at 1-800-GO-UHaul (1-800-468-4285) or through online chat.
  • Can I change the pickup time, location, or equipment size on my reservation?
    The quickest way to make these changes would be on the orders page of our website. By entering your contract number and the last name on your reservation you will be able to access the reservation and make any necessary edits. If you have any trouble you can also talk with our online chat team or call customer service at 1-800-GO-UHaul (1-800-468-4285).
  • Can I rent a Cargo Van or Pickup Truck one-way?We do rent cargo vans and pickup trucks one-way in many markets; however, if yours is not one then we recommend our 10′ truck instead. The 10′ is perfect for a small move, plus you can tow your car behind you!

    There are a large variety of factors that go into determining whether a specific towing combination is recommended or not. If your towing combination is listed as “not recommended” on our website and you feel that there has been some sort of error, you should get in touch with our experts at Hitch Central by calling 800-234-8869.
  • What is the best way to get a rate quote?
    The quickest way to get a rate quote is on our website, uhaul.com. If you have any trouble, please let a sales specialist assist you with a quote at 1-800-GO-UHaul (1-800-468-4285) or live chat.
  • Do I need a special license?
    No. U-Haul trucks are not considered commercial vehicles. U-Haul requires our customers to be 16 years of age to rent our trailers and 18 years of age to rent our trucks. Both require a valid driver’s license.   • Who should I contact if I need to alter or cancel my U-Box reservation?
    It would be best to get in touch with our U-Box team, you can reach them at 1-877-GO-UHaul (1-877-468-4285).
  • Is there a cancellation fee for my reservation?
    We ask thatyou let us know as soon as possible if you no longer need equipment. Other families may not be able to find equipment if a reservation was made and the equipment was not used. As a courtesy, 24 hours is requested. There may be times when a cancellation fee may be charged, such as; manipulating the system to hold equipment unnecessarily.
  • Where can I cancel my equipment or storage reservation?
    Truck & trailer reservations can be cancelled on the orders page of our website. If you prefer, you can also chat with our customer service team online, or give them a call at 1-800-GO-UHaul (1-800-468-4285). For storage reservations, it may vary depending on the location type. If the storage reservation is at a U-Haul owned facility, customer service can cancel the reservation, or you can call the location directly. If the storage reservation is for a storage affiliate (privately owned storage facility) it must be cancelled with the storage location.
