After browsing JcPenny’s prom dress section, I went to Macy’s. At the mall I went to (and was shopping at that day), Macy’s, JcPenny, and Dillard’s department stores are located in the same mall. It’s just a matter of walking around the mall to get from store to store. After I arrived at Macy’s, I had a little trouble trying to find the prom dresses. The Junior’s section is where they used to be located, but this year they were moved to the women’s section.
This year’s selection of dresses is far larger than in previous years. I was surprised by the amount of dresses available for sale this year. I think the store wanted to stock more dresses this year because of the fact that this year is the first year since the start of the pandemic when people are allowed to be in close proximity with each other. Also, many schools are allowing prom to take place in the same way it did prior to the pandemic.
I’m very happy to see the dresses available for sale and took many photographs of the dresses. I did this for my friends and their children, but I wanted to share some of the photographs I took of the dresses available for sale.
At this Macy’s, there is usually a formal display with a mannequin dressed in a prom dress. This year, there was a mannequin dressed in a prom dress with the same prom dress and two other prom dresses on racks behind it…
The dress the mannequin wore was a navy blue dress with a lace cut out under the bust…

To the mannequin’s right (Left to anyone who looks at the mannequin straight on) there is a white dress with a gold ribbon down the slit in the skirt…
I don’t remember if the ribbon was a woven gold or had glitter on it.
This is what the top looked like…
The black dress to the left of the mannequin(Right to anyone who looks at the mannequin straight on. It had a halter neckline and a silver ribbon down the slit of it’s skirt. It looks nearly identical to the while dress except for the colors and the neckline.

This dress caught my eye because I think it’s something one of my friends’ children would like to wear to prom…

The fabric has metallic threads woven in it. This makes the dress sparkle and shine without shedding glitter.
Another dress that had this type of fabric is the blue/grey dress on the right…
The dress on the left is not the style my friends’ children would like to wear, but I think they would like the fuchsia color…

Also, you can see how odd the lighting was in the store. It’s ok to shop in , but hard if not impossible to photograph prom dresses in!
I love the color of the dress, but I don’t think my friends will like their daughters wearing it…
The reason why is because of the bodice…
It’s a very pretty dress, but I’m not sure if it will fit my friends daughters well. I do know they will love the color though!
After browsing the dresses, I think my favorites are from Say Yes to the Prom collection. Most of the dresses in the collection available at the store had white skirts, but they seemed to be the best options for my friends daughters. I also loved them for how pretty they look! There was this white dress with blue embroidered leaves all over the bodice…

The dress comes with a belt. The belt looked like this…
The other white dress I liked is this white dress with gold embroidery all over the bodice and skirt…

The bodice has rhinestones on parts of the gold appliqué. Also, this dress has a lace up back. This would make it fit the wearer better without taking the dress to a seamstress and tailor to adjust the bodice.
And finally, I feel in love with this dress…
I’m not a huge yellow dress fan, but this dress is stunning! Unfortunately, the store had one available in one size. So, I took many photographs of it in order to show my friends what the dress looks like.
In order to avoid posting too many photographs of the dress, I’m only posting two. The photographs above is what it looks like from the front. This one is what the back looks like…
And that’s all for the prom dresses from Macy’s prom dresses. I like the dress selection this year and the variety of colors available. I’m so glad I went shopping at the Macy’s store I went to!
